Description

Took advantage of the new moon and angle of availability to run a quick test shot of M45 with RGB only on the ASI1600. Not sure if L is useful on this subject.

50x 60s each filter, unity gain (139), 0C.

darkarchon's EZ Processing Suite was again useful to me for nice linear noise reduction better than my normal workflow, and also star reduction.

As feared, the "microlens" artifact from the camera's sensor is prevalent on these bright stars, and it was not possible to do more than minimize that in processing. I'll give this another run one day with a different mono camera. Meanwhile, this maybe slightly betters last year's run with the ASI071 OSC with also less integration than this year.
